Sahel: An Expanding Crisis

While the world is preoccupied with Ukraine, crises in the Sahel should also concern us. Recent coups d’état in Western Africa, the arrival of Russian mercenaries, the withdrawal of French troops in Mali and an overall spike in violence are all structural breaks in a deep crisis, ongoing for the last 10 years.
